Google is opening registration for Google I/O 2013, and as usual has made the process more fun by adding Easter eggs to the website to amuse you.

Google I/O is being held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco from May 15-17, 2013, and you can register for the event on the Google I/O website from the 13th March (though as the event last year sold out  within 30 minutes, the chances of managing to get a physical seat is minimal).

Google I/O is Google’s annual developer conference featuring technical in-depth sessions alongside the latest from Google's product teams and partners. 5,500 attend the conference, and many more follow the sessions online. If you’re too late to get a seat, you can at least look for an Easter egg on the site - there are plenty hidden.

We can’t give you direct links to the Easter eggs, but you can start looking for them by clicking on the I/O characters on the opening page in different patterns to build an 8-bit ASCII code. When you’ve clicked to build a successful code the box around the characters you’ve entered (you’ll see a new webpage with sound effects.

There are bowling pages, a Pong game, and different versions of the I/O such as a hotdog and hamburger.

To give you some clues, try the 8-bit ASCII binary codes for 231 for a cat, 129 for pong, 144 for bacon, 69 for a rocket, and 117 for bowling.

Just don’t get so engrossed in looking for Easter Eggs that you forget to register for Google I/O!

Of course the bigger question is what will Google announce at the conference and what will they give away - anyone betting on Google Glass might well be disappointed, however the next version of Android isn't so silly an idea.
