A new version of HeidiSQL, the Windows open source SQL client, has been released, with changes including support for using search and replace in data and query results.

HeidiSQL can be used with databases in MySQL, MariaDB, Percona Server and Microsoft SQL Server formats, and can be used to import and export data as well as browsing, querying and editing data.

The new version adds support for folders, both to organize tables and views in the database tree, and as session folders in the session manager, so you can organize your user interface to suit the data you’re working with. You can now also view the history of what queries have been run, and when you’re creating a query, you can now append WHERE clauses to an existing filter clause.

For users of SQL Server, the routine editor now works so you can view and edit stored procedures, functions and triggers. Users of other databases were able to do this in the previous release.

More minor changes include support for microseconds in the temporal datatypes of MariaDB 5.3+ and MySQL 5.6, and the ability to export data grids as PHP arrays.

The team working on HeidiSQL have made 343 revisions to the code since version 7 was released in February 2012, including better language support so that HeidiSQL is now available in 23 languages. The full list of changes can be viewed here. heidisql

SQLite 3.15 Adds Row Value Support

SQLite 3.15 is now available with support for row values, support for deterministic SQL functions in the WHERE clause of a partial index and the ability to VACUUM an attached database.
