Restlet Streamlines DevOps Workflows

There's a new version of Restlet Studio that offers better collaboration for DevOps teams.

Restlet Studio is a visual development tool for API DevOps teams. The software is designed to let developers and other IT professionals collaborate on creating custom APIs, publish data and applications in the cloud or deploy mobile and IoT applications.

It supports all major API specification languages such as OpenAPI  (the new name for Swagger) and RAML specifications. It has a Web UI that you use to create the elements that make up your service, where you can specify the resources, methods, representations and variants.

You can access the definition of RESTful APIs that have been designed in formats including Swagger and RAML, and once the design is complete, the tool will generate code online for client SDKs and server skeletons in a number of different languages.

Alongside the support for cloud, mobile and IoT apps, the new version of Restlet Studio adds support for nested data structures to be used within the API. The elements in the data structure can be dragged and dropped to reorganize them if changes are necessary, and resources, representations and operations can be organized with point-and-click actions.

Other new features include a new search option and a redesigned navigation panel.

Restlet Studio is available as a cloud application. Professional versions start at $9 per month, with plans that support team collaboration and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) starting at $49 per month.
