JetBrains - Work With AI Effectively

In cooperation with the Nebius AI cloud platform, JetBrains has launched a set of ten free courses for developers that demonstrate how to incorporate AI in their workflow to become 10X productive.

The first one is Coding With Junie. Junie is of course JetBrains own AI agent. In our recent article "JetBrain's Developer Productivity AI Arena Is A Game Changer" we found out that Junie scored better than some other first class AI agents on the DPAI benchmark when tested on a diverse set of tasks:

  • Issue to patch track: Exists as the foundational track for fixing bugs and implementing feature requests.

  • PR review track: Evaluates agents’ ability to analyze and improve pull requests.

  • Coverage track: Measures how well agents can write or expand unit tests to increase code coverage.

  • Static analysis track: Focuses on identifying and fixing linting or static analysis issues.

  • Upgrade track: Tests an agent’s capability to perform dependency or framework upgrades safely.
  • Compliance track: Evaluates adherence to organizational or industry coding standards.

So this course dedicated to Junie is a first class opportunity to learn about this noteworthy tool. The lessons are as follows:

  1. Starting with Junie Agent
  2. Prompting with Coding Agents
  3. Planning and Documentation for AI coding
  4. Debugging and Testing with Coding Agents

Other courses that you can join are:

  • AI Development Tools Overview
  • Prompting Techniques
  • AI Agents as Your Team
  • The Theory of Agentic Workflows
  • Building Your Own AI Agent
  • AI in QA Engineering
  • Introduction to AI in DevOps
  • Legal Risks of AI-Assisted Programming

The AI in Devops course is particularly interesting since it incorporates lessons like "Enhancing Security with AI" and "Integrating AI into CI/CD Pipelines".

In "AI Agents as Your Team" you'll learn how agents are built by understanding the architecture behind LLM-powered agents and how they operate under the hood. On the way you'll learn how to increase productivity by applying practical playbooks to achieve significant gains with today’s agent technologies and how to navigate risks by identifying and mitigating challenges like bias, hallucination, or poor observability.

That being said, all courses are notworthy.

Finally, there's a Capstone project "Build your own LLM-powered app from scratch" where you apply everything learned thus far.

All fine but the icing on the cake is that you can join for free to access all the courses. There's also a Certification Plan, which has a more involved training plan and in the end it earns you a certificate as well.
