To coincide with the time of the year that students all over the world graduate and start looking for jobs, Udacity, in collaboration with Grow With Google, has expanded its portfolio  with twelve free, short, courses that will help those looking for a job or wanting to build their career.

Announcing the courses on the Udacity blog, Kathleen Mullaney, VP of Careers for the online training company writes:

Ever since we first launched Nanodegree programs back in 2014, my team has been helping students to achieve their career goals—to land rewarding jobs, secure valuable promotions, execute meaningful career changes, and earn higher salaries.

Although Udacity dropped the guarantee of finding a job within 6 months that that it had made to those who enrolled in its Nanodegree Plus program, it is still committed to helping graduating students advance their careers.

Grow With Google, as we reported when it was launched last year is an initiative to help people get the training they need for technology jobs and it is committed to helping 1 million Europeans find a job or grow their businesses by 2020.It has already partnered with Udacity to provide scholarships and the first career-oriented course “Networking for Career Success” was created as a resource to help scholarship recipients successfully make the leap from classroom to career. This course was made available in March 2018 and served as the pilot for the 12 courses launched today which cover everything from networking and personal branding to technical interview preparation and cover letter optimization.

Of the new courses four are at beginner level and take a matter of hours to complete -  between 1 day and 1 week according to the course descriptions:

At intermediate level there are two variants, Python and Swift. on a Data Structures and Algorithms course that takes approximately 4 weeks to complete that help candidates prepared for a technical interview.
There is more Interview Prep in a set of 1-week courses:

Each of these are associated with one of Udacity's Nanodegree programs and no doubt Udacity hopes that offering free Interview Prep courses will encourage sign ups to its more extensive, paid-for offerings.
