Are you look for teaching materials related to Microsoft technologies, including Windows 8, either for independent study or to teach your students? If so its worth seeing what's on offer at Microsoft's Faculty Connection site.

I have to admit I didn't know about Faculty Connection - and there are various signs that it really isn't being exploited to the full, which suggests that others don't know about it either.
In a nutshell Faculty Connection is a collection of curriculum resources for use in academic courses or for educational research and personal development. The materials available include e-books, presentations, tutorials, videos, hands-on labs, training materials and development tools and new stuff is constantly being added.
Lots of the resources that I initially assumed were new - simply because they were on the latest technologies such as Windows 8, Kinect, and Windows Azure new to me - turned out to have been on the site for some months. Looking at what's available for Windows 8 there's already quite a lot, with the most recent addition being Rapid2D C++ Game Development Tutorial for Windows 8. This is possibly not a representative example since it is based on a third party game engine, albeit one that is free to download and use. Perhaps more typical is the 11-module series Designing for Modern UI, which starts with an overview of the Windows 8 platform, and how Windows UI style apps fit into the user experience.
The majority of the resources are in English but as well as the Global site there are regional sites for China, Germany, Latin America (LATAM), Poland, Russia, Spain with materials in the appropriate languages.
It is also worth remembering that, as well as catering for students, Microsoft's DreamSpark program, provides Microsoft developer tools and software for faculty members as part of an institutional subscription. And the Imagine Cup is a great way for students and teachers to be at the forefront of Microsoft technologies
