Microsoft has launched a revamped version of Microsoft Marketplace that combines its Azure Marketplace and Microsoft AppSource into a single new entity.

Microsoft describes the new marketplace as giving customers one place to explore solutions and partners more ways to build and grow their business.

According to Nicole Dezen, Microsoft's chief partner officer and corporate vice president for global channel partner sales, writing on the company's Partner blog, the new marketplace:

"is a seamless extension of the Microsoft Cloud, making partner solutions discoverable directly within the Microsoft products where customers work every day."

"This launch expands the ways our partner ecosystem can reach customers and grow your business, while also giving you new opportunities to develop AI-enabled apps and agents that customers can use alongside their own AI investments."

The new site has a new AI apps and agents category that already has over 3,000 AI apps and agents, according to Dezen, saying that the AI apps and agents can extend and enhance how customers use products, including Microsoft 365 Copilot and Azure AI Foundry to help maximize those investments.

One preview feature in the new Marketplace is an option for the creators of AI apps and agents to authorize channel partners to resell the apps by geography, according to Dezen. The new site is also integrated with distributor platforms, so distributors can offer Marketplace apps on their own platforms. This means the developers will have a wider distribution option, while the distributors will be able to bundle the third party apps with their own services, software, and hardware.

Distributors including Arrow, Crayon, Ingram Micro, Pax8, and TD SYNNEX have integrated Microsoft's catalog into their marketplaces. Marketplace solutions are vetted for compatibility with Microsoft products, which Microsoft says streamlines implementation.

Additionally, a new Marketplace capability called resale enabled offers is now in private preview. This will let software companies authorize their channel partners to sell on their behalf through private offers, so unlocking  — unlocking new routes to market.

The new marketplace is available now.
