Registration has opened for Samsung's inaugural developer conference and details of the schedule are now available. The two-day conference in San Francisco costs $299 for all attendees.

We had already reported the dates and venue for the Samsung Developer Conference as October 27-29, at the Westin St, Francis Hotel on Union Square in the heart of downtown San Francisco.

The non-refundable registration fee covers attendance for either of both days at the conference including an evening reception on Monday October 28. Attendees can also take advantage of a discounted room rate of $289 per night at the hotel hosting the event.

The schedule reveals that the conference will start with an hour-long Keynote at 11:00 on October 28, although there are no details of its title or the identity of the presenter.

For the remainder to the conference four or five sessions run concurrently, most of them being 50 minutes in length, in seven categories:

  • Mobile
  • TV
  • Gaming
  • Cross Platform
  • Web
  • Enterprise
  • Monetization

Mobile is the currently the predominant one in the schedule at the moment although quite a few sessions still having TBA status. It is to be hoped that some of the slots are filled by repeating popular sessions where they currently clash with one another - but as devs are not asked to choose sessions in advance it may not be possible to gauge popularity in advance.

While I previously speculated that Android would feature prominently that's a word that is currently altogether absent from presentation titles. There are a few sessions that are on Android the UI, sensor use and on Samsung extensions to the Android API such as Chord - but the word "Android" isn't used.

There is a session State of HTML5 which currently clashes with a panel discussion of Web vs Native. Tizen crops up a couple of times in the mobile category, as does S Pen, the smart input stylus for use with the Galaxy Note and there are sessions on the Smart TV API.

There are also two sessions on the Samsung KNOX Platform in the enterprise category.

KNOX is a secure version of the Android platform designed to appeal to business users and launched a few months ago:

"Samsung KNOX is the comprehensive enterprise mobile solution for work and play. With the increasing use of smartphones in businesses, Samsung KNOX addresses the mobile security needs of enterprise IT without invading the privacy of its employees."
