Self Parking Chairs - Office Utopia

Whoever would have dreamed of making a video about office chairs? If you don't already know that the answer is Nissan then spare a few minutes. It's amusing and it depends on the same technology that is introducing self-parking cars.

The video demonstrates that it not just videos of kittens that can go viral, although there is a follow on video from Nissan that is about cats!

Here we have chairs that respond to a sharp clap, which means that at the end of a meeting there's no need for anyone to move their chairs back under the tables.

Having watched this promo video you'll have discovered the link between balletic office furniture and Nissan's automotive technology - Intelligent Parking Assist.

This second video starts out demonstrating the this functionality which, we are told is useful not only for those who are bad at parking, but also for skillful drivers who are tired and less focused after a long drive - or a long day at the office!

It goes on to show how the intelligent parking concept was then extended to the office environment - with chairs capable of automatically returning to their original positions. This is obviously a great convenience in an office environment - or a classroom, or a canteen.

And no doubt someone will device a dance routine for it as already done for robot vacuum cleaners and even sorting algorithms!
