The Microsoft .NET Core 2 launch event will be hosted at DEVintersection Europe in Stockholm, Sweden 18-19 September. If you book your place in the next few days there's an Early Bird offer.

In addition to the official launch, the conference will focus on Core 2, and how this latest version of the open source and cross-platform version of the .NET Framework  has developed, showing how code written in Core 2 can run equally well on Windows, OS/X and Linux workstations, and on smartphones using Xamarin technology.

The speakers at the conference include Scott Hunter and the rest of his team who are responsible for bringing this new generation of .NET to life, as well as top tier industry experts who will cover new tools, the developments in technologies and practical solutions. You can get a preview of Scott Hunter's thinking on the .NET Core 2 launch in this Channel 9 video:

DEVintersection Europe will also focus on the latest developments in Azure with Paul Yuknewicz and his team and those in AI with Microsoft Corporate VP AI Business, Steve Guggenheimer.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to train and network with the team of Visual Studio 2017 and C# and industry experts in architecture and microservices.

The conference is packed with sessions on .NET, with highlights including an Introduction to ASP.NET Core 2.0 by Jeff Fritz. This covers the new features of ASP.NET Core 2.0 and how your applications can benefit, as well as performance tips and how you can take advantage of them.

Paul Yuknewicz has an interesting looking session on how you can get started developing .NET cloud applications on Azure using Visual Studio, covering now only how to get .NET application to run in Azure, but the enhancements Microsoft has built in to Azure for giving your .NET applications the best fit in the cloud.

There's plenty of non-.NET specific material as well. A number of topics on Machine Learning look interesting, from a session titled "Machine Learning 101 – just enough to impress your boss" through more advanced sessions on making predictions using machine learning, and how to use the Recommender Engine and Anomaly Detection.

In addition to the regular conference there will be 3 full-day post-conference workshops looking at what the .NET Core 2.0 launch offers with Scott Hunter and Jeff Fritz, Developing the Modern Cloud Applications in Azure with Paul Yuknewicz, and  an in-depth Angular Workshop with Tiberius Covaci.

There's an Early Bird offer, saving you $100, for people signing up before August 22.
