If you're experiencing frequent "insufficient memory" errors when doing small cut or copy operations in Visual Studio 2010 RTM then Microsoft has a Hotfix patch that promises to help.

The symptoms of the bug are that a cut or copy of even small to moderate amounts of text in VS RT produces the error:
"Insufficient available memory to meet the expected demands of an operation at this time, possibly due to virtual address space fragmentation. Please try again later."
When you check the memory usage seems reasonable and really the operation should just work.
To fix it simply download the patch and install it.
Of course Microsoft points out that you will still see memory errors if you attempt to copy large chunks of data - it only fixes the bug and doesn't create infinite memory resources!
