In Computer Science Education Week it is great to learn that Computer Science and Computer Engineering are both in the top five Bachelor Degrees with the highest starting salaries.
This week is CSEd Week in the U.S and emphasis is being placed on the fact that there's a strong future demand for those with a Computer Science qualification. In fact the strong demand has already started and is reflected in high starting salaries for new graduates.
In its infographic Crisp360, a community for IT and business professionals looking to advance their careers, puts Computer Science degree in fourth place in terms of starting salary - quoting $61,205 for 2010.
All the top ten salaries are for those with STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) qualifications and Computer Engineering and Information Sciences and Systems are also in the top ten list.

The purpose of the infographic is to show how quickly it might be possible to repay a student loan with these degree choices. In the case of Computer Science it's a very acceptable 4 years.
Coupled with other findings, such as Developer Salaries Set to Rise and the Bureau of Labor Statistics projection that by 2018 more than 800,000 high-end computing jobs will be created in the economy making it one of the fastest growing occupational fields, now is a great time to embark on a career in Computer Science.
