Microsoft has announced a new C++ conference with a  lineup of speakers that's bound to impress any aficionado of the language.

Another piece of evidence of Microsoft's growing love affair with all things C++ is its latest conference. Going Native 2012 is described as "a 48 hour  technical event" that will be held at the Microsoft Campus in Redmond on February 2-3.

No sessions have been announced but we do have the names of four speakers who hardly need any introduction for C++ developers:

Bjarne Stroustrup - creator of C++

Herb Sutter - Chair of the C++ Standards Committee

Andrei Alexandrescu - author of Modern C++Design and The D Programming Language

Channel 9, which has been bringing C++ devs the monthly Going Native video show since July, sees this event as an opportunity for a party - and the Evening Event is the only part of the proceedings which so far has a time and a mandatory box (Yes/No) on the Registration Form.

Partying aside, there's bound to be lots of interesting stuff for those C++ devs

"who push the boundaries of general purpose computing by exploiting the true capabilities of the underlying machine"

and the event is to be streamed on demand on Channel 9 for the unlucky programmers who don't get to go.
