In a typical exchange on the Linux Kernel Mailing list Linus Torvalds let drop, in passing, the fact that he is now a US citizen.

There isn't much more to this story accept for the fact that his Wikipedia page was almost immediately updated to reflect his new-found citizenship.

Linus Torvalds is, of course, the creator and current mentor of Linux and specifically the Linux kernal. Originally Finnish - as you might guess from his name - he was born in Helsinki and has lived and worked in the US since 1996.  He now works for the Linux Foundation.

Linus micro fact - Linus Torvalds was named after Linus Pauling a noble prize winning US chemist.
