The fifth annual RunRev Live conference takes place in Edinburgh from May 14-17. As well as the main speaker track, where LiveCode experts share their knowledge, this year's event features two workshops tracks.
The event, which takes place at Edinburgh's Dynamic Earth venue, comes shortly after the recent release of a free open source version of RunRev's LiveCode application development software and attracts members of the RunRev community not only from the UK and Europe but also from the US and Canada.
Each day of the conference sees a plenary session including an opening keynote from RunRev's CEO Kevin Miller and a concluding one from CTO Mark Waddingham. As well as talks from other RunRev staff several guest speakers are scheduled to talk on a variety of topics. The event also provides an opportunity for one-to-one sessions where delegates can get together with one of RunRev's engineers for expert help with your specific LiveCode issues.
Based on feedback from RunRevLive.12, this year sees the introduction of small, focused, hands-on workshops, intended to teach delegates how to become expert in specific areas of LiveCode. For example, a session led by Mark Waddingham is on how to work with the LiveCode Engine itself, to add features or fix bugs. As workshop numbers are limited to 10 places, attendees can initially only sign up for three sessions and to make places available to meet demand popular workshops will be repeated. Currently there are still places in most workshops and you can sign up to them free by email once you have purchased a conference ticket, now priced $499.
Looking forward to RunRev Live 13, Kevin Miller said:
"We're really excited to be sharing our vision for LiveCode in the Community at this event. It's great to get feedback from our users and to share stories and expertise with them. This is a once a year opportunity for us to get direct input on what is important to our users, as well as for us to share our visions, goals and expertise with everyone"
