Striim has joined the Databricks Technology Partners Program in a move designed to give Databricks customers access to a fully-managed cloud service that can be used to connect data from databases, applications, and clouds to Databricks in real-time. The announcement was made at the Big Data LDN conference, held in London today.

Striim Cloud is fully-managed software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for real-time streaming data integration and analytics that is designed to be zero-maintenance and "infinitely scalable". Striim connects over 100 sources and targets across private, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.

Members of the Databricks Technology Partners Program integrate their solutions with Databricks to add complementary capabilities to Databricks for uses including ETL, data ingestion, business intelligence, machine learning, and governance. There are over seventy existing members of the partnership program.

Databricks was created as a company by the original developers of Apache Spark and specializes in commercial technologies that make use of Spark. The products that are included from companies in the Technology Partners Program mean customers can use the Databricks Lakehouse Platform and can connect existing tools in validated integrations.

Striim’s integration with Databricks means organizations can combine the Databricks Lakehouse Platform with Striim’s real-time streaming capabilities. Striim can be used with Databricks’s AI/ML to create new models that are based on real-time data, and those models can be used to provide faster access to more accurate business predictions.

Striim Cloud's managed software-as-a-service nature is described as eliminating the complexity of building low-latency streaming data pipelines at scale. The company says that instead of spending weeks implementing a new infrastructure, global enterprises can integrate data from disparate sources in just a few clicks.

Ariel Amster, director of strategic technology partners at Databricks, said:

We intentionally partner with technology providers like Striim to enable our customers to speed their time-to-insight via Databricks AI/ML solutions. We are excited to partner with Striim, providing our customers access to a fully-managed cloud service to seamlessly connect data from databases, applications, and disparate clouds to Databricks in real-time.”
