Amazon Big Data

Support for Windows-based software has been added to Amazon AWS Marketplace, along with new software categories including Big Data solutions.

The additions to Marketplace mean you’ll be able to list your Windows or Big Data software in the AWS Marketplace. A number of software companies are already on board, including Parallels Software, MicroStrategy, and Quest Software.

If you list your software, all the billing, collections, and disbursements automatically handled by AWS, with the cash deposited directly into your account. This includes the ability to support pay-as-you-go pricing. You just set the pricing for your software by instance size, and AWS tracks usage and calculates the bill.

The new Big Data category makes it possible to deploy and start using big data technologies such as Couchbase and MongoDB. The current list of software runs to 20 items, with SAP Hana and MapR among the better known names alongside Couchbase and MongoDB.
