The Social Network wins three Oscars and Aaron Sorkin has had a change of attitude to social networking The Social Network, aka the Facebook Movie, had been nominated for eight Academy Awards including Best Picture and Actor in a Leading Role. On the night it won three: Best Adapted Screenplay went to Aaron Sorkin, Angus Wall and Kirk Baxter took the Film Editing award and Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross won in the Music (Original Score) category.
Aaron Sorkin has been repeatedly quoted as saying he doesn't use Facebook and has given the impression of being hostile to the very idea of Social Networking and the Internet in general. However it seems he had had a change of heart. After winning the prize he told reporters backstage: But when you see what happened in Cairo and other examples of social-network tools mobilizing people for great causes, you want to thank the Mark Zuckerbergs that are out there for doing that.
