Each of these Professional Certificates comprise multiple courses and, if you don't want any certificates you can enroll in any of them free of charge. The Free option means you only have a restricted time period in which to complete a course, as opposed to access that extends even after you have finished the complete program and you can't participate in the graded assignments or exams. AI In Practice Professional Certificate comes from TU Delft and sets out to

• Describe the benefits of implementing AI in organizations, in terms of context, problems, research approach and results.
• Identify the implications of implementing AI in terms of improvement strategies for organizations in industry, academia and education.
• Understand the aspects of AI compliance and ethics and their significance for your own organization.
• Create a plan for the application of AI in your own organization.

It comprises two courses, Preparing for AI and Applying AI, each of which is expected to require 3–5 hours per week, for 5 weeks. In the former students learn to recognize and understand the implications of Artificial Intelligence for organizations, and the importance of compliance and ethics when AI is applied in practice. They then follow up in the latter by learning about the implementation and practical aspects of Artificial Intelligence and how to write a plan for applying AI in their own organization in a step-by-step manner.

Generative AI For Everyone Professional Certificate is a 5-course program from IBM and as its name suggests it aims to introduce the fundamentals of generative AI to a wide audience. Each of its five courses are expected to require between 1 and 3 hours per week for 3 weeks, amounting to 4 months total  although you can go at your own pace. The courses are:

1. Introduction to Generative AI

    
2.  Introduction to Prompt Engineering
    
3.  Models and Platforms for Generative AI
    
4.  Impact, Ethics, and Issues with Generative AI
    
5.  Elevating Businesses and Careers with Generative AI

The rubric states that participants will learn:

• In-demand generative AI skills and hands-on experience employers look for on a resume. No prior tech or AI experience required.
• How to write effective prompts that get the results you need quickly and efficiently.
• How to use generative AI technologies to speed up the creation of written communications and content.
• The fundamentals of generative AI tools, models, and AI platforms such as ChatGPT, IBM watsonx and Hugging Face.
• The ethical considerations you need to be aware of for responsible use of generative AI, including its limitations and misuses, e.g. copyright implications.

The first course in this is program is also foundational to two other IBM Professional Certificates that consist of additional courses and take longer to complete. They are:

• IBM Applied AI Developer Professional Certificate, comprising 7 courses over 6 months which includes 3 Python courses and which covers:
  
  • Learn about large language models (LLMs) and leverage them to build intelligent chatbots and apps.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Python for data science and building AI applications and generative AI-powered chatbots.
• IBM Professional Certificate in Generative AI Engineering, comprising 16 courses over 1 year 1 month and which covers
  
  • How to build and deploy generative AI applications, agents, and chatbots using Python libraries like Flask, SciPy and ScikitLearn, Keras, and PyTorch.
  • Key gen AI architectures and NLP models, and how to apply techniques like prompt engineering, model training, and fine-tuning.
  • How to apply transformers like BERT and LLMs like GPT for NLP tasks, with frameworks like RAG and LangChain.

However these more extensive certifications are not included in the End of Year promotion

Computer Science for Artificial Intelligence Professional Certificate, offered on edX by Harvard University is a two-course program that we've reported on before.It is considered an ideal first step towards thinking algorithmically and understanding programming fundamentals together with the foundations of modern artificial intelligence then using Python to learn.

The first course is CS50x: Introduction to Computer Science, the online version of most popular undergraduate course at Harvard. This is a 12-week course at 6–18 hours per week in which you are introduced to the common programming languages. You then build on that foundation with CS50's Introduction to Artificial Intelligence with Python.

This is a 7-week course at 10–30  hours per week that explores the concepts and algorithms at the foundation of modern artificial intelligence, diving into the ideas that give rise to technologies like game-playing engines, handwriting recognition, and machine translation. Through hands-on projects, students gain exposure to the theory behind graph search algorithms, classification, optimization, machine learning, large language models, and other topics in artificial intelligence as they incorporate them into their own Python programs. By course’s end, students emerge with experience in libraries for machine learning as well as knowledge of artificial intelligence principles that enable them to design intelligent systems of their own.

All in all, this is a very satisfying course. It manages to blend theory and practice excellently and exposes the student to Python's data science environment that the language is so famous for. Totally recommended.
