The January 2001 issue of Joomla! Community Magazine has been posted and as one of its feature stories it invites you to "Party Like It's Joomla! 1.6"

Joomla 1.6 is scheduled to launch on January 10th and the celebrations are planned for later in the month. To quote the article:

All Joomla! User Groups (JUGs) and Joomla! developers and community members around the world are encouraged to plan a celebration in the two week period from January 24 - February 7. Eat Joomla! cake! Take pictures! Make videos!

Another of the features is an excerpt from The Official Joomla! Book which is now shipping. The selected extract covers the implementation of access control in Joomla 1.6 which it states "is the most important change" with a hands-on example that you can follow.

As a turn of the year issue, this one looks back as well as forward and includes Top 10 Joomla! Template Picks for 2010 and this month's Haiku theme is Resolutions.
