To celebrate 30 years of MySQL, Oracle has launched a promotional initiative that grants free training and certifications. The offer runs from April 20 to July 31, 2025. It is comprised of four distinct units: MySQL Essentials MySQL for Database Administration MySQL for Developers HeatWave MySQL Essentials All classes include multiple choice "skills checks" and by completing each of them you can also opt to get certified by taking part in the following exams, collectively or individually:
Be prepared to invest quite some time in the materials, since the effort required spans from 2 hours for HeatWave to the maximum of 31 hours for the Database Developer learning path. The journey ranges from installing and upgrading MySQL, configuring backups, setting up replication and high-availability, to deploying MySQL architecture and design, to developing data-driven applications with JSON document stores, connectors and spatial data, as well as learning how to be improving the performance of your applications. Keep in mind that this is official Oracle material and not some third party's. As such you can expect the usual Oracle stellar quality. All in all, the opportunity of both getting educated by Oracle as well as getting certified and for free, it's an opportunity that cannot be missed.
