The AI Champion Ship is now underway, with a month to go before entries close. The organizers describe it as a global competition for builders, dreamers, and tinkerers who want to push AI beyond the ordinary. The challenge for entrants is to build an AI-powered app that's original, useful, or delightfully weird, and the competition is backed by LiquidMetal AI, in partnership with Vultr, Cerebras, ElevenLabs, Netlify, WorkOS, Stripe, Searchable and Cloudflare. They say this hackathon celebrates imagination, speed, and technical execution.
This is an open-topic hackathon, with prizes on offer for the best overall idea; and for the project with the most public votes. There are additional prizes for specialized tracks, including the best Small Startup Agents, open to small teams; and best AI solution for the public good in the areas of environmental challenges or social good. A Best Agentic Shopping Experience category is for an app that "browses, negotiates, and personalizes the shopping journey", while the best AI App by a Solopreneur is for solo developers only. There are also some prizes for the best project using technology from the sponsors, specifically a best voice agent, and best ultra-low latency use app. All the apps have to be be built on LiquidMetal AI's Raindrop Platform and utilize Vultr Services for AI workloads. Specifically, the goal is to produce a working AI application built on Raindrop Platform (via Raindrop MCP Server), and you must use an AI coding assistant (Claude Code or Gemini CLI) to build on Raindrop. The app has to integrate at least one of the Vultr services, and projects must be newly created or at the very least significantly updated during the hackathon period. If the entry is in the Voice Agent category, it has to integrate with ElevenLabs; and if it's in the Ultra-Low Latency App category, it has to use Cerebras Inference. The winners will win a Championship Belt, along with a $10K cash prize. There are also another $25K in cash prizes for other winners, and another $35K+ in credits, along with meetings with Top VCs. Entries are open now.
