Apple's WWDC Conference Sold Out

Tickets for this year's developer conference were all snapped up within 2 hours of going on sale. If, however, you are a student you can still win a free ticket.

The announcement that Apple's annual WorldWide Developers Conference would take place from June 11-15, 2012 was made at 08:30 ET yesterday and the sold out notice was posted around 10:30 ET.

The conference is, as usual, taking place in San Francisco but there are unlikely to be many West Coast developers present as the tickets had sold out by 05:30 PST - leaving many of them feeling decidedly p**st.

The event is the renowned for its sessions, its hands-on labs and its partying and it is expected that Apple will announce the new features of iOS 6 and the release date of OS X Mountain Lion.

So the fact that videos of all the sessions will be posted shortly after the conference is no consolation.

Tickets for the week-long conference, which were only available to those enrolled in an iOS or Mac Developer Program, cost US$1599 and were limited to one per person or five per organization.

There is another route to attending WWDC2012 for student developers.

Up to 150 Student Scholarships, i.e. just a ticket, no travel or accommodation, are being awarded. To enter you have to complete a form by the deadline of May 2, providing details of your creativity and experience. To be eligible you have to be 13 or older, enrolled in a course of study and be a member of an iOS or Mac developer program.
