The DeepMind podcast is hosted Dr Hannah Fry and attempts to give answers to the most frequently encountered questions about Artificial Intelligence. Dr Fry is a widely known mathematician, scientist, broadcaster and YouTuber (see the You Tube Numberphile channel amongst others). In thse prodcats she chats with DeepMind engineers and researchers to: "explore topics such as the link between neuroscience and AI, why we use games in our research, building safe AI and how AI can be used to solve scientific problems". Commencing on August 20th, the first 5 parts in this 8 part series have already been published: Part 1 "AI and Neuroscience:The virtuous circle" explores the link between the human brains and AI trying to imitate it. Part 2 "Go to Zero" presents AlphaZero, the successor of AlphaGo, more intelligent having learned to play chess by itself without any help or instructions. Part 3 "Life is like a game" AI that plays the ultra challenging game "Starcraft" and beats its humans opponents. Part 4 "AI,Robot" AI utilized in Robots, teaching them how to perform tasks that humans find very easy to perform. Part 5 "Out of the Lab" AI for the greater good or what are the challenges faced in the attempt to create AI that can advance civilization to make up for a better life for humans.
